ABOUT YOU:

You LOVE to set goals and GROW. Working with a team of other artists keeps you inspired! Staying on task and focused isn’t too hard for you when you love what you do. You revel in showing off a clean(stain free), well maintained workspace to all your clients and get excited for a group gab between other salon guests and artists alike. You’re the type to help your fellow artist out; whether it’s a sweep sweep here, or a sanispray there, you know team work makes the dream work! Client comfort and satisfaction has always been at the forefront of what you do, and you want to be around other artists who feel the same way. You know that a large part of providing the best service possible to your guest, is making the right product recommendations and you feel confident in your ability to do so. You’re comfortable with an online booking system and require minimal guidance in navigating social media, booking software and a pos system.

ABOUT US:

We are a Kevin Murphy Session Salon. This means we proudly use and retail cruelty-free, environmentally conscious products. We love to support local businesses by partnering with other (mainly woman owned) small businesses to provide our clients with wonderful, inspiring products and raise awareness of all the amazing local creators we love. Our space has capacity to provide a large range of services, making our space a one stop shop for many guests. We love animals, the environment, our community, and of course, all things BEAUTY.

Our artists are committed to:

  • Letting go of ego, fear and/or any blocks around their growth.
  • Continuing their lifelong learning, both within the salon and in their personal time.
  • Staying creative and seeking inspiration, both for their own art and to share positivity with their fellow artists and guests.
  • Setting monthly, quarterly and yearly smart goals; and will be responsible for checking in and ensuring their following through.
  • Learning and honoring all salon policies. (mental health, inclusion, health and safety, and education policy, etc.)
  • Taking risks, in the name of their growth.
  • Supporting the team and the salon brand, through social media, in salon and in all things they do.
  • Respect the salon space, by completing my opening, closing, sanitation and cleaning duties.

REQUIREMENTS:

In order to join our team of independent artists, you'll need to provide copies of the following:

  • Business License
  • Business Insurance
  • Certificate of Qualification
  • BeautySafe or Preempt Certification

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrate personal accountability and effective work habits
  • Time management
  • Collaborate well with fellow artists.
  • Provide reliable client services.
  • Maintain sanitation between each guest.
  • Book appointments and cash clients out.
  • Offer product recommendations.
  • Maintain your own social media pages and regularly share images/videos of your work with the salon (for marketing purposes and newsletters).
  • Learn and review policies and procedures regularly.

In addition, our team works together to maintain our beautiful salon. Some tasks our team shares are as follows:

  • Sweeping and mopping common spaces
  • Folding towels
  • Regular sanitation of all common areas (doors, light switches, bathroom, retail)
  • Keeping our snack bar stocked and clean (washing all dishes before leaving for the night, wiping down counters, removing all personal food containers from fridge)
  • Dusting around windows

THE DEAL:

Independent artists are paid up to 50% profit share on their retail sales, this includes all collabs with local vendors.

Rental Rates:

Hair Chair 4 days a week : 1475/month

Additional fees:

Color fee is pay-per-use (if using the salon color bar) and charged directly to your client and paid to the salon through the point of sale.

Backbar fee is included in rent and applied to cutting, and styling services (excludes bang trims, clipper cuts, or braiding).

(Back bar fees cover the cost of washes, rinses, styling products, towels, capes, extension removers and solvents and sanitation products and tools.)

Signing bonus: We know how scary moving your guests to a new home can be, and we want to ease this transition for you! For the first month at Ten Fifteen Beauty we will reduce your rent to $1000
